The Official 360º English Language Test (LPT), recognized by the CRUE (Cultural Union of the European Union) and the Official Gazette of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, is essentially based on the design of the TOEIC exam and is inspired in certain parts by the TOEFL iBT exam. This highly reliable and undeniably academic foundation gives the test proven validity and accuracy in terms of question types, timing, and ability to discriminate between levels.

General Information about the 360º LPT
The 360º LPT test lasts approximately 90 minutes and is administered on a computer at an accredited Official Fast Examiner Center.

El examen 360º LPT es un test multinivel que mide los conocimientos de las 4 macrodestrezas de lengua inglesa de los candidatos dentro de los niveles del Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para las Lenguas. Para ello, consta de dos partes diferenciadas: 360º LPT Listening & Reading y 360º LPT Speaking & Writing, es decir, por un lado las habilidades receptivas orales y escritas y por otro las habilidades productivas orales y escritas.

Structure and parts of the 360º Language Proficiency Test
The 360º LPT exam is a multi-level test that measures candidates’ knowledge of the four English language macro-skills within the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. It consists of two distinct parts: 360º LPT Listening & Reading and 360º LPT Speaking & Writing, that is, receptive oral and written skills on the one hand, and productive oral and written skills on the other.

This table shows the cut-off scores for each level, following a simplified generalization. The LPT 360° Exam weighs the candidate’s overall skill profile to assign the CEFR level, prioritizing the consistency and homogeneity of their knowledge.

Quality and validity of the Official English 360º Language Proficiency Test
A team of researchers from the Department of English Philology of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the Autonomous University of Madrid in 2016 stated that the levels of quality and validity of the 360º LPT 4 skills exam are above the prescriptions usually demanded for these tests, with demanding standards in the creation and protocols and processes comparable to those of ETS, ALTE or ACLES exams, and with a degree of accuracy in leveling greater than 90%.
